SportTechnology Website Released
The SportTechnology website is now live. SportTechnology is the home of Flowboards (the skateboard that rides like a snowboard), Bomb Factory Skateboards, and accessories.
This short-term freelance project was written in PHP. It utilizes the Flowplayer FLV video player, FormMail PHP form script, and of course, jQuery, the Write Less, Do More, Javascript Library.
There was a lot of transparency in the site designed by SilkJive, this required some hacks to make the thing work in Internet Explorer 6. Most of the fixes were addressed in an IE-specific stylesheet and script loaded via conditional comments. I could go on about the shortcomings of Internet Explorer 6, but it is still here, and web developers must still deal with it. My approach lately has been to target a site toward modern browsers (IE6 does NOT belong to this group) using standard-compliant markup, styling, and script, and then to go back and make the thing work in Internet Explorer 6. Hopefully, before long, IE6 will be retired and the development process can move on without this tired old browser.

Speaking of IE 6, I am in the middle of dealing with a very strange IE6 issue where a JSONP callback will not execute…. more as I (hopefully) find a solution.

OK, so here’s the wacky thing. I found this message on the jQuery google group:

So when you have a JSONP call being made from a click event handler on IE6, the JSONP callback never executes. You must call the event through the HREF attribute of a link instead of a click event.

Flowboards are the most retarded thing next to obama.
